- You might have some questions or you might just need information or advice?
- You might be interested in talking 1-2-1 or you might prefer a group?
- Leah offers drop-in sessions, 1-2-1 sessions, and local peer and support social groups.
Drop-in sessions aim to be as friendly and informal as possible. They will provide an opportunity to share your thoughts and feelings with Leah, Leeds GIS Outreach Worker, who has lived personal experience and knowledge of the Leeds GIS Care Pathway. She is a not counsellor, but sometimes it can be helpful to speak to someone with lived experience.
Peer support and social groups
We are developing groups for trans, non-binary and gender non-conforming adults in your area. Peer support can be a positive way to improve your support network and wellbeing. Groups can provide an opportunity to receive support or just listen to other people’s insight, journeys, and life experiences.
1-2-1 support sessions
Gender Outreach Workers can offer 1-2-1 sessions while you are on the Leeds GIS waiting list. Feel free to ask questions, seek advice, or simply take the opportunity to speak to someone with lived experience. Our outreach workers will do their best to signpost and provide you with the information you feel you need.
A little word from Leah….
I am pleased to be working with Leeds GIS as Gender Outreach Worker in the North West. I have many years of lived experience and can provide helpful advice, information, and support to people on the Leeds GIS waiting list who live in the region. I am based at Renaissance an LGBT organisation in Blackpool and have experience of supporting people in your area. I hope to provide basic support to people while they wait for their first assessment appointment. My aim is to support trans, non-binary people and people questioning their gender, regardless of stage of transition. I aim to provide groups and sessions that people in your area feel they need, so please get in touch.
